Description
The specimen is a portion of large bowel. There is a large tumour infiltrating through the full
thickness of the bowel wall into the pericolicl fat. The tumour is exophytic with rolled margins
and there is central ulceration. Extensive areas of necrosis are seen throughout the tumour. Several
nodes contain metastatic tumour deposits. Also included is a portion of omentum; this contains
multiple nodules of tumour the largest of which measures 1.8cm in diameter. Histologic
examination of the tumour revealed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, ACPS Stage D.
